The water park Salztal Paradies Bad Sachsa in the South Harz, Germany, is a popular destination. On 5,000 m2, it features a swimming pool and wellness area for any water rat and wellness enthusiast. This is where you can really relax, enjoy the water and have fun: the water park in Bad Sachsa offers something for every age group.

The redesigned sauna area includes 5 saunas, from a 60 °C bio sauna to a 100 °C Finnish sauna, which invite you to relax and linger. Kneipp hoses, splash showers, a roofed outdoor swimming grotto, a beautiful plunge pool and an ice fountain let the body cool down again after an extensive sauna session.

Requirements

 

The client Bädergesellschaft Bad Sachsa mbH in Germany assigned MONACOR's partner SLT Technology Group GmbH & Co KG from Krefeld, Germany, to plan and install a PA system for unobtrusive background music in the sauna area which comprises approximately 450 m2.

The applied speakers are required to meet the challenging conditions in swimming pools, saunas and other wellness facilities. The ceiling speakers had to be integrated unobtrusively and ensure a high-quality music reproduction in the sauna and wellness area. Special attention was paid to a simple and user-friendly operation.

 

Solution

 

The area for sauna and wellness was equipped with 68 x flush-mount ceiling speaker EDL-158 from MONACOR.

The PA ceiling speaker with IP65 certification is heat‑resistant up to 100 °C. Thanks to its weatherproof speaker cone, it is ideally suited for saunas and swimming pool areas. The 2-way system with dome tweeter provides an excellent sound for unobtrusive background music.

Four wall-mounted speakers WALL-05T/WS complete the PA system in the spa facility. The mounting bracket for pivoting and tilting allows for flexible as well as horizontal installation on walls or ceilings.

The speakers are driven by 3 x class D PA power amplifier PA-4120D. The device with 1 RU is the ideal solution for professional fixed installations due to its low weight and compact dimensions. The state-of-the-art class D amplifier ensures both an excellent efficiency and an outstanding sound quality.

The PA-4120D features 4 channels with 120 W each at 4 Ω or 100 V. The volume can individually be adjusted for up to 4 zones max. Each channel features a balanced line-level input and a fault signalling output for remotely monitoring its operating status (both connections are plug-in screw terminals).
