PA speakers for commercial applications: from the doctor's practice to the zoo café

PA stands for public address system, and is also referred to as a soundreinforcement system when used for live music or performances. Colloquially, many experts refer to PA systems as loudspeaker systems as well. PA systems are public address systems that were previously suitable for the transmission of information above all, but today such systems also provide top-quality music in commercial contexts. They almost always work on the basis of 100-Volt technology. For this reason, PA systems are often synonymous with 100-Volt technology in colloquial language, which also explains the use of wording that would actually be linguistically redundant, such as “PA loudspeakers” or “PA loudspeaker systems”.

• Surfaces have a big impact on how the room reflects sound: Is the floor carpeted, hardwood, concrete, or made of some other material? Are there acoustic panels, is the insulation between you and your neighbours not overly good? How is the ceiling finished?
• Which volume is appropriate, or even better: What role does sound play in the shop concept? Just how loud or quiet music is playing has an effect on whether it is perceived as foreground or background noise.
